Your Interview Can't Tell You Who's Actually Right for the Job
This is a telesales hiring assessment built differently — research on over 30,000 hires found the standard interview explains only 9% of future performance, while a live, structured work sample is the strongest predictor there is.
Verification Track
Hiring someone who says they’ve already sold before? Verification Track tests whether their track record is real — and actually theirs, not a team’s.
Potential Track
Hiring someone with no sales history? Potential Track tests something different: whether they’re honest, self-aware, and genuinely trainable — before you commit a seat to find out.
Either track includes:
- The Buyer Guide — the full framework: how to run the conversation, what to listen for, and how to score it.
- A Live-Use Scorecard — what you actually use during the conversation, live, whether that’s in person, by phone, or by video.
- Your Decision Record — for the calls that aren’t a clean pass or fail, so your reasoning is grounded in evidence, not just an impression.
- A Cheat Sheet — a quick-reference leave-behind for after your calibration call, covering the two things people need reminding of first.
- A 60–90 Minute Calibration Call — one-to-one with Mike, before you use this for real, so you’re calibrated on the judgment calls that are genuinely ambiguous live.
Prefer IVPC to run this directly?
Some businesses would rather not run the conversation themselves — that’s fine. Send over the candidate you’re already considering, and IVPC will apply the same Verification or Potential Track diagnostic directly to them, then hand you the findings so you can make the call. This isn’t recruitment. IVPC doesn’t source, search, or put anyone forward — you’ve already found the candidate. This is purely the diagnostic itself, done for you, on a flat fee. UK recruitment agencies typically charge 15–25% of a candidate’s first-year salary, whether or not that person turns out to be right for the floor.
Frequently Asked Questions
If the candidate claims real, existing telesales or closing experience, use Verification Track. If they have little or no sales history, use Potential Track. If you’re not sure, go with what the candidate has told you — that’s the test either way.
No. It’s a live-conversation diagnostic, not a written questionnaire or psychometric test — you’re testing what a candidate has actually done (Verification) or how they genuinely think and respond (Potential), not scoring personality traits.
No. Everything you need is in the Buyer Guide and the Live-Use Scorecard — just the scorecard and a live conversation, in person, by phone, or by video.
Don’t substitute a written version — it’s not a stylistic preference, it’s central to why this works. A written form gives a candidate time to draft the answer that sounds right, which defeats the purpose. If a candidate won’t do a live conversation, that’s worth treating as information in itself.
Complete the Decision Record before making your hiring call. It walks you through capturing the specific evidence, your decision, and your reasoning, so the judgment call is grounded in something specific.
The scorecard is a recommendation to inform your decision, not a rule that removes your judgement as the business owner. If you decide to proceed anyway, treat it the same way you’d treat any other high-risk hiring decision.
Yes — anyone doing the hiring conversation can use the Buyer Guide and Scorecard. If they’ll be running it regularly, it’s worth them joining the calibration call too.
Yes. Your purchase covers your own hiring — use the Buyer Guide and Scorecard for as many candidates as you’re assessing.
This is built specifically for telesales and closing roles, and the questions are calibrated to that kind of work. It isn’t designed for field sales, account management, or other sales roles with a different day-to-day shape.
Your first calibration call is included in your £175 purchase. A further one — a new hire, a refresher, a tricky candidate — is available for a flat £75.
There isn’t a refund window. The Buyer Guide, Scorecard, and Decision Record are sent to you immediately on purchase, before the calibration call even happens — so a refund wouldn’t reflect what’s actually been delivered.
A 60–90 minute call with Mike personally, after purchase and before you use this for real. It’s not a re-read of the guide — it’s aimed at the judgment calls that are genuinely ambiguous live, using real practice examples.
